Project POLONEZ BIS 3 LightG4Life

Research and Training

Host Institution Department

The project is performed at the Institute of Advanced Materials (IAM), Faculty of Chemistry, Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST). WUST is one of the top-ranked university in Central Europe and among the highest-ranked one in Poland. The campus hosts multiple internationally recognized groups. This creates a highly dynamic and interactive environment.

The IAM Group is among the leading experts in Poland in the field of photonics, nonlinear optics and nanotechnology. It combines several research teams that work together, through intra-and interdepartmental collaborations, creating a dynamic and cooperative working environment. The main research topics conducted at IAM include spectroscopic studies of synthetic and biological materials, lasing and random lasing and organic field-effect transistors. The members of the group cover a large range of expertise, which are highly complementary to Dr Deiana´s expertise and research proposal. Stateof- the-art equipment such as microscopes, lasers, spectroscopic apparatus, and core facilities such as the NMR platform are easily available. Prof. Matczyszyn has a broad scientific network that combines together multiple long-standing national and international collaborations involving leading scientists working in different fields that range from biology (Dr Wojciech Krezel at IGBMC in Strasburg, Dr Claude Nogues at ENS de Cachan and Prof. Andrzej Szuba at the University Hospital of Wroclaw) to materials science (Prof. Chantal Andraud at ENS de Lyon, Prof. Frédéric Paul at Universite de Rennes, Prof. Mark Humphrey at Australian National University and Prof. Ifor Samuel at University of St Andrews).
